According to a 2007 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pennsylvania leads the nation in fatalities as a result of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Most of these incidents could be prevented with the presence of a carbon monoxide alarm. If HB1445 is passed, many lives will be saved and countless emergency room visits will be prevented in Pennsylvania.
